During my time as a student designer working the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of South Carolina, I was responsible for creating designs for environmental graphics and printed media. One of these projects included flyers that advertised the university's Study Abroad programs. I was tasked with communicating with the professors leading each trip and designing digital boards and flyers that met their needs.
I began with creating flyers for each program in Canva. I wanted each flyer to have a cohesive design that also allowed for some variety for each trip. In my process I used the University's Brand Guidelines as a tool to make professional looking flyers.
I wanted each flyer to entice students to want to learn more, so I included eye catching imagery of each location that would encourage students to learn more about each opportunity. Each flyer had a different background color so the students would easily be able to differentiate one trip from another.
After creating the flyers I replicated each design to look similar to their respective digital board. The digital boards gave more opportunity to show different pictures from the trip which allowed for variety between the flyer and the digital board.
